We work the fourteen areas between Monticello, about five miles out, and Addis, roughly twenty miles the other direction, with Walker, Old Jefferson, Inniswold, Merrydale, Village St. George, Oak Hills Place, Brownfields, Port Vincent, Livingston, French Settlement, Port Allen, and Brusly filling in between. Most of that service area was built between 1962 and 2013, with the median landing around 1989 and the bulk clustered in the 1980s and 90s. That means a lot of steel sectional doors on extension or torsion springs installed when double-car garages became standard, not the insulated, high-cycle doors you would spec new today.
A torsion spring job on a house from that era is not the same job as one on something built in the last ten years. The headroom, the drum size, even where the previous owner mounted the opener bracket all shift with the decade. The climate is mild with occasional freezes, not the hard freeze-thaw cycle that cracks concrete up north, so the wear we see is more about age and old lubricant meeting a cold morning than sudden weather damage. Knowing the vintage of the build before we arrive means we are not guessing at the panel in your driveway.
